Magic: The Gathering is probably the worlds most popular CCG, owing largely to a constant stream of new releases in the 30-odd years that its been on the market. Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms will take players to a classic D&D setting in mid-to-late 2021. Both are based in the gothic horror world of Innistrad, and both will arrive in the fall of 2021. A Dungeons & Dragons MTG set has been announced as a Core Set for Magic: The Gathering. For the most part, I Gatherered and included 100% of what's actually available regarding dungeons and dice, but there might be some wiggle room regarding the treasure game and other side themes.ĮDIT: The reason there are four lines of 10 swamps, is because I used swamp 272 and 273 from both new Innistrad sets, where they're the new shadow motif with a purple outline. Two unnammed sets are on the way featuring werewolves and vampires. Normally, there's plenty of room for suggestions, like cards that might have been overlooked. It's hard to make a deck even better than a precon for under $500 these days, though this one might not be.
One nice thing about running D&D, treasure and food cards is that even pimped out, so to speak, with every extended art and alternate art D&D frame there was (no foils though - I don't care for foils), it was only $200. Eventually, it was clear that I'd either need a dozen tutors or one in the command zone, so I switched to Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire, and went very small on his Opposition Agent and Ob Nixilis, Unshackled strategy.
As I got towards the end, after using Gatherer for all the black or colorless options for dice rolling and dungeon diving, and my favorite treasure cards, I added some food and clues to the deck for thematic reasons. Revel in Riches is the intended win condition. So, this was intended to be an Acererak the Archlich deck that went all in on dungeon diving (all three dungeons), dice rolling, and treasure accumulation.
